Well, Wall Street and the world's stockmarkets are crashing, credit is getting tighter and house prices continue to fall nearly everywhere. France included. Anecdotal evidence from the Aude (Carcassonne, Chalabre, Puivert) suggest that vendors are accepting offers of just 50% in order to shift property that's been on the market for over a year. Moral of the story: make a silly offer ... you've nothing to lose!
