Cheap French Property

The French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, pointedly refrained from making any concessions to the real estate lobby in a recent address to the nation. Property developers had hoped that the governemnt would ease restrictions on access to credit for first-time buyers but the feeling is, among informed observers, that Sarkozy and his cabinet would prefer to see prices dropping another 20% or so before any action of this type is taken.
