Cheap French Property
property listing dated 20th May 2010
May brings belated spring sunshine as well as record rainfall this year. Two bits of good news for British buyers in France: the unexpected 'success' of the Tory-LibDem coalition so far bodes well for the strength of the pound vis-à-vis the Euro ... and the Euro's slide against almost every other currency following the sovereign debt crisis can only help to bolster sterling. Local estate agents report a 'small' increase in prices this Spring but this is probably wish-fulfillment based on a few meagre sales. Both 'The Economist' and ourselves feel that the French property market is still 15% over-valued.
